Illinois Principals Association

IPA Online Learning

Educational professional development is more important today than ever before. Funding and time restrictions make it difficult to attend workshops. Principals must make wise decision as they choose the types of professional development to become successful leaders.

The Illinois Principals association offers a variety of online workshops that are convenient and interactive. You will be able to talk with and listen to all the participants as well as your instructor over the Internet. In addition, you will have a whiteboard to draw on, view PowerPoint slides, participate in web tours, take quizzes, type in a chat window, ask questions or discuss points, provide feedback to presenters, and participate in polls during the session. However, these classes may not be ideal for all.

Online workshops are suitable for:

  • Individuals open to learning and interacting with others in an online environment
  • Individuals who have reliable, high-speed Internet access
  • Individuals with a computer headset with microphone
  • Individuals who are comfortable changing some Web browser settings and downloading some software needed to access the Elluminate Live! website used for IPA workshops.
  • Individuals who can assure uninterrupted time on a computer for 3 hours (close the door, turn off phone, fax, etc.)

You MUST complete the technical requirements and online workshop instructions before participating in an IPA online professional development opportunity.
