Principal Evalutation Instrument

In accordance with Public Act 94-1039 (effective July 20, 2006), every principal must be evaluated by February 1st of the final year of the principal’s contract. Linked below are several tools to assist school districts, superintendents and principals in the evaluation process.

The principal evaluation documents were developed by the DuPage Regional Office of Education, working with principals and superintendents in that region. The IPA wishes to thank the DuPage Regional Office of Education and Regional Superintendent Dr. Darlene Ruscitti for allowing IPA to make this information available on our website.

It is suggested that the job description document and all other job requirements are shared with the principal at the earliest possible date. It is further recommended that the formative evaluation be completed well in advance of the February 1st deadline, with the final summative evaluation being completed in late January.
