Message from ISBE

In the spirit of making certification information more accessible and easier to find, the ISBE Divisions of Educator Certification and Educator Preparation & Recertification are posting a new Certification website.  The address for the Certification Homepage is the same as the previous site: www.isbe.net/certification.  As you will see, the new website is divided into three main categories: (1) Services and Information for Current or Prospective Educators; (2) Services and Information for Districts and Regional Offices of Education; and (3) Services and Information for Colleges and Universities.  It is our sincere hope that the new format will make searching for and finding certification-related information easier.

Principals... Share This Unique Conference Opportunity with Your Secretary

The Illinois Association of Educational Office Professionals (IAEOP) will host a three-day conference April 18-20 at the Eastland Suites in Urbana, IL. Keynote speaker Kendra Smiley, author and speaker, will talk about four keys to being a top performer in her message, "Being the B.E.S.T. You Can Be," and provide the essential ingredients for a positive attitude in her message, "Recipe for a Positive Attitude." Thelma Webber, IAEOP member and presenter, will conduct an interactive workshop, "Everybody is Somebody," dealing with the various personalities we come across each day. Naomi Fettes, IAEOP member and presenter, will explain the "Professional Standards Program," the certification program for educational office employees.

Retirees will hear another presentation by Kendra Smiley, "Give Your Heart a Good Spring Cleaning," showing how basic housekeeping principals can help us sort through the things we are storing inside us. IAEOP is the only state professional association for educational office personnel.  The organization is dedicated to providing professional growth opportunities for its members and continues to work toward increased recognition for educational support staff as an important component of the educational team. IAEOP recognizes the unique role of educational office professionals and the important contributions they make to the profession.  The prestige, status, and credibility of IAEOP are enhanced by its affiliation with the National Association of Educational Office Professionals.  IAEOP is also recognized by the Illinois Principals Association and the Illinois Association of School Business Officials.
