Evaluator Training

IPA provides ISBE-required Administrator Academies for individuals to renew their teacher and/or principal evaluator designation. Earned evaluator designations appear on an Illinois educator's Professional Educator License (PEL).

Renewing the Teacher Evaluation Designation

Requirements

  • One teacher practice training course (AA #1448, AA #1451, AA #1452, or AA #1801) AND
  • One student growth retraining course (AA #3000)

Timeline

  • Must be taken in the subsequent licensure cycles following the cycle in which the initial teacher evaluator designation was earned
Example:

Principal Jones earned his initial teacher evaluator designation on July 15, 2020 (his licensure cycle was July 1, 2016-June 30, 2021). Principal Jones must complete teacher practice AA #1448, #1451, #1452, or #1801 and student growth AA #3000 before the end of his current cycle (July 1, 2021-June 30, 2026).
